Spent the last week getting the SPADcub built. We have the radio, engine, fuel system and controls all installed. What is left is to do the final bits that make it a "take it to the field" kind of plane. You know, something that looks like a candidate for bragging instead of something you make excuses for like ," well it's just in the experimental stages", or " we want to prove the concept", or things like that. The windows in the cockpit and the striping on the fuse and wing are the last bits needed.

As we built this we thought about how it could be produced for a customer. We finally decided that it should probably best be a completed wing with a fuse parts kit. This way the most of the challenging and space intensive steps would be out of the way. What would be left is to finish the wing tips, build the fuse and engine module, mount the wing and set incidence angles. After that it is just like any ARF because you still have radio gear to install. It will not be as challenging to build with the layout done and the pieces there to be compared with the instructions on spadtothebone's website. We think this will make a larger bird available to the average hatchback driving apartment dweller. The largest part of the plane would be the fuse since the wing could be split and reconnected at the field.

Well, soon the marketplace will have to decide.
